Our Client is one of the best private hospitals in Doha, Qatar seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) who reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organisation, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The Director of Nursing in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer and the Chief Executive Office /Chief Operating Officer, holds collaborative authority and accountability for the ambulatory surgical and outpatient services – with the CEO/COO holding ultimate responsibility and accountability. Their aim is to advance quality, operational efficiency, to ensure a professional work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance patient satisfaction. The triad of leaders assumes responsibility for translating the facility goals and strategies into the surgical and outpatient services’ long-term program or service plan, oversees implementation and effective action at the department or service level, including JCI accreditation, and maintains quality standards of care, practice and service, especially as they relate to ambulatory and outpatient services. Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to): Provides leadership and management of day-to-day clinical functions related to the organizations ambulatory surgical and outpatient services; inclusive of Operating Theaters, Executive Health, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, Gastroenterology, Dentistry, Orthopedics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Conduit to facility nursing operations to ensure adherence to operations standards. Executes nursing professional practice model and professional development to achieve JCI accreditation. Collaboratively structures the block surgical time schedule to best accommodate workload, surgical prioritization and efficiency. Work with facility leadership to plan strategically for future needs, both short and long term, and throughput of organisation. Define performance standards, goals and initiatives to continually monitor and improve Operations. Acts as team member with CEO/COO and CMO – meeting weekly to discuss plans and remediation related to operations. Development of budget to support exceptional financial performance including KPI’s and capital equipment planning. Responsible for achieving budget targets to support exceptional financial performance. Ensure organisational compliance with accreditation, licensure and other regulatory standards including Joint Commission International (JCI) and all local regulatory agencies. Establishes and executes annual and long-term program or service goals, strategies and plans (including business plans) consistent with hospital goals and strategies. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clinical leadership as appropriate and senior management to ensure close coordination of medical staff and administrative goals, plans, and strategies. Acts as a good citizen of the organization as exemplified by integrity and ethics in personal behavior and willingness to participate in task forces, special events. Additional Functions Work with CEO/COO and CMO to assure smooth implementation of new facility operations Strive for personal excellence and advanced professional growth in skills and knowledge required for effectiveness in current position; set and carry out personal development objectives as part of annual objective setting process which are appropriate for position and personal development objectives, e.g.: Leadership roles in relevant professional groups Continuing education as participant, presenter, and/or planner Mentor/teach own and other staff through informal and formal roles. Working Condition: Working Hours: 48 Hours / Week Working Days: 6 Days / Week Contract Period 1 Years Renewable Probation Period 6 Months Family Contract: Candidate, Wife or Husband and 2 Kids Minimum Experience Requirements: Not Less than 5 years of Recent Work Experience as DON in a JCI Accredited Hospital Must have 10 years of progressively responsible nursing experience to include three years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with surgeons and physicians, anaesthesiologists, and senior management Previous OR management experience is a plus Demonstrated experience as manager and leader, including budgetary responsibilities Prefer strong, practical nursing experience around primary care, chronic disease conditions, wellness and specialty care. Prefer experience working in an international environment Minimum Qualifications Requirements: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Master’s Degree in nursing Administration or Business Administration Preferred: Certification in area of specialty Other Requirements: Fluent English speaker. Knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage although not essential Possess administrative, and management skills, excellent clinical judgment and quality assessment skills and a working knowledge of trends in hospital management and economics. Demonstrates ability to interact with individuals of multiple disciplines.
